Turkey: Ephesus, Sardis, Gordion, and Hatusa / RIMG0087

Photos by Chris Kostman, July, 2002: Fast forward to the end of the trip. On my way to Ankara from Kerkenes I visited Hatusa, the capital of the Hittite Empire from 1375 to 1200 BC. This is Yazilikaya, the rock-cut sanctuary that may have been the holiest of the Hittite sanctuaries. Those are not Smurfs; they are gods and goddesses.
