The Top 31 Things to Do, See or Experience in Death Valley—besides participate in an AdventureCORPS event—in no particular order

In late November / early December 2008 we traveled to Death Valley (and environs) in order to see, do, visit, ride, and hike to all the places and attractions which we're too busy to explore during our events. Here's a video slideshow of some of the highlights of the trip. How many do you recognize? Many of the Must Do suggestions on this page are featured. Enjoy!
Tour Scotty's Castle.
Hike Golden Canyon and Gower Gulch. Info.
See the Pupfish and other natural wonders at Ash Meadows.
Visit, and stay at, the Amargosa Opera House and Hotel (Death Valley Junction, NV).
Hike all the way around, and down into, Ubehebe Crater.
Visit The Racetrack. (If you don't have a 4x4, Pink Jeep Tours can take you.)
Hike out to, and ascend, the tallest of the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes near Stovepipe Wells.
Visit the Borax Museum at the Furnace Creek Ranch, the oldest structure in Death Valley.
Visit the stores run by the Death Valley Natural History Association at the Furnace Creek Visitors' Center and at Scotty's Castle.
Be dazzled by the view from Zabriskie Point.
Drive, or better yet, cycle or walk, through 20 Mule Canyon.
Drive, cycle, or run the marathon through Titus Canyon.
Visit the Chloride Cliff area with mines, ghost town remmants, and spectacular views. (4x4)
Hike to, and beyond, Natural Bridge.
Attend Death Valley Ranger Programs at the NPS Visitors' Center in Furnace Creek
Visit the Harmony Borax Works site near Furnace Creek.
Be awed by the geologic beauty of Artist's Palette.
Hike Mosaic Canyon, near Stovepipe Wells.
Visit the ghost town of Rhyolite, located 4 miles west of the town of Beatty, NV on Hwy 374.
Stroll to the giant Solar Array and through the Date Grove at Furnace Creek.
Play golf, or even just bird watch, at the World's Lowest Golf Course.
Walk out onto the Badwater Salt Flats.
See the unique salt formations at Devil's Hole Golf Course.
Hike the boardwalk trail at Salt Creek and see Pupfish in the Spring.
Enjoy the bird's eye view of Death Valley from Danté's View.
Swim in natural spring-fed pools (84 degrees year-round) at the Furnace Creek Inn and Ranch Resort. Go for a horseback ride on and near the Ranch.
Drive, or cycle, up Wildrose Canyon to the Charcoal Kilns.
Hike Telescope Peak, 11,049' above Death Valley and Panamint Valley. Info.
Visit Shoshone, including the Death Valley Museum & Chamber of Commerce, gas station gift shop, Crowbar Cafe, and Café C'est Si Bon.
Enjoy the night sky with "billions and billions of stars" during one of our events or perhaps during a Night Sky Viewing Part with the Las Vegas Astronomical Society.
Enjoy a stroll through the gardens, sunset drinks, and dinner, at the Furnace Creek Inn.

Spring Century and Double Century

The classic Southern route past Badwater and over the passes to Shoshone and back!

Death Valley Century and Double Century™ is held twice per year, providing incredible, one-of-a-kind, 100 mile and 200 mile cycling events in Mother Nature's greatest sports arena, Death Valley National Park! The field limit is 300 riders total and it always sells out. Hell's Gate Hundred

Hell's Gate Hundred is held annually in April on a route which includes locations and sights that are not visited in any other one-day cycling event in Death Valley National Park, including Artist Drive, Hell's Gate, Daylight Pass, and the ghost town of Rhyolite. The event also includes outdoor yoga classes on Friday and Saturday, and the strong encouragement to visit the Visitor's Center / Museum / Bookstore in Furnace Creek, the Borax Museum on the Furnace Creek Ranch, to attend the Ranger Program on Saturday evening, AND to enjoy a hike in Golden Canyon on Sunday morning! This beautiful, wonderful, one-of-a-kind National Park belongs to all of us.
